COLUMBUS, Ohio – The New York Rangers staged a dramatic comeback on Saturday night, overcoming a late deficit to defeat the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 at Nationwide Arena. Will Cuylle scored the game-winning goal with just 1:39 remaining in the third period, igniting a raucous celebration among the visiting faithful.

Mika Zibanejad, a consistent force for the Rangers with 8 points now in the last 5 games, contributed a goal and an assist, while Arthur Kaliyev got the scoring started early with a nice wrap around.

The Blue Jackets, despite early goals from Kent Johnson, Justin Danforth, and James van Riemsdyk, were unable to hold off the Rangers’ late surge. Zach Werenski, a driving force for Columbus, continued his impressive home point streak, but it ultimately proved insufficient to secure a victory.

This thrilling victory marks the third win in four games for the Rangers, solidifying their position in the playoff race. Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets suffered their fourth consecutive loss, further complicating their playoff aspirations.

Looking Ahead:

Both teams will now enter the Four Nations Tournament break before returning to action in late February. The Rangers will travel to Buffalo to face the Sabres on February 22nd.
