Rangers Begin Three-Game Road Trip in St. Louis

After suffering yet another defeat in disappointing fashion, the Blueshirts begin a three-game road trip in central America (6:00PM on MSG).

New York now find themselves just two points clear of last place in the Metro Division
Since hiring Jim Montgomery as their head coach on November 24th, St. Louis has gone 5-2-2 with points in seven of their nine games
The Blues are led in points by Jordan Kyrou. Kyrou has 26 points in 31 games played. His linemates are Robert Thomas with 21 points in 19 games and former Ranger Pavel Buchnevich who has 20 points
Expected to make his Blues debut is the newly acquired Cam Fowler from Anaheim. On Saturday, the Blues traded a second-round pick and a minor-leaguer for Fowler and a fourth-round pick
Fowler is expected to pair with Justin Faulk
The Blues get some reinforcements after losing Nick Leddy in October, and Torey Krug who is out for the entire season
Joel Hofer is expected to start in goal for the Blues. Hofer is 6-3-0 with a .902 save percentage. But in his last three starts, Hofer is 3-0-0 with a .922 save percentage
The Rangers will play their second straight game without K’Andre Miller. Miller was placed on the IR and won’t be available. Connor Mackey or Chad Ruhwedel will play in his spot
The Blueshirts need more for everyone and it is not just veterans who are asked to lead the team. The Rangers younger players have also slowed down including Alexis Lafreniere who has high expectations after signing a long-term contract
- The Canadian Native now has no points in the last three games and just four points in his last ten games played
Jonathan Quick came in relief early on Saturday which could prompt head coach Peter Laviolette to stick with the original plan and to start Quick on Sunday, or go back to Igor Shesterkin who did not play the full game on Saturday
