After a 3-2 overtime victory against the New Jersey Devils, the Blueshirts head out west for a matchup with the Golden Knights (10PM on MSG).

Rangers vs Golden Knights

  • Brett Berard has rejoined Hartford to get more ice time
    • Bo Groulx was called up to give the Rangers more flexibility at center with Filip Chytil still out of the lineup. Groulx is likely to be a healthy scratch in Vegas
    • Jimmy Vesey will rejoin the lineup in place of Berard
  • Chris Kreider joined the team on the three-game road trip after being placed on IR
    • Kreider is likely to remain out of the lineup in Vegas
  • Reilly Smith will return to Vegas for the first time since winning the Stanley Cup in Vegas two seasons ago
    • Smith recorded 14 points including ten assists on what was a stacked Golden Knights roster in 2023
  • Igor Shesterkin will get the start in goal for New York. Shesterkin came off the IR against New Jersey making 21 saves
  • Ilya Samsonov will get the start for Vegas. Adin Hill has started 26 of the team’s 41 games to start the season. Samsonov is 11-3-1 with a .907 save percentage on the season
  • Jack Eichel leads the Golden Knights in points with 53 points on 41 games
    • Mark Stone is having a fantastic season as the Canadian winger has 35 points in just 27 games
  • Ivan Barbashev is a game-time decision, but is expected to be available for the Golden Knights
    • Barbashev has 30 points in 31 games on the season
  • Defenseman Shea Theodore is quietly having a great offensive season. Theodore has 33 points in 40 games and is tied for fifth in the NHL among defenseman in points with Adam Fox of the Rangers
  • The Blueshirts fourth line will look to continue to build momentum. Sam Carrick was the man of the hour, as he recorded his first career overtime goal
    • Adam Edstrom had some good looks and made life difficult for New Jersey
    • Matt Rempe returned to the lineup last game and continued to throw the body and try to give energy
