The New York Rangers have finalized their 2025–26 Opening Night roster, carrying 23 players into the season.

Forwards (14): Mika Zibanejad, J.T. Miller, Artemi Panarin, Vincent Trocheck, Will Cuylle, Alexis Lafrenière, Taylor Raddysh, Sam Carrick, Matt Rempe, Adam Edström, Jonny Brodzinski, Juuso Pärssinen, Noah Laba, and Conor Sheary.

Defensemen (7): Adam Fox, Vladislav Gavrikov, Carson Soucy, Will Borgen, Braden Schneider, Urho Vaakanainen, and Matthew Robertson.

Goaltenders (2): Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick.

The finalized roster leaves New York with $824,643 in salary cap space, meaning any future roster moves or trades will likely require shedding some salary.

Several offseason additions could play key roles this year. J.T. Miller, returning to New York and now wearing the captain’s “C,” is poised to be a major offensive force. On the blue line, Vladislav Gavrikov is expected to log heavy minutes and add defensive stability, while Conor Sheary, who earned a contract after a professional tryout, brings depth scoring and penalty-kill experience to the bottom six.

A highlight of camp was Noah Laba earning a roster spot after an impressive preseason. However, promising prospects Gabe Perreault and Brennan Othmann were assigned to the AHL for further development. Both remain strong candidates for a midseason call-up or could emerge as trade assets ahead of the March 6 NHL Trade Deadline.

  • The Rangers now turn their attention to the Pittsburgh Penguins as they open the season tonight at Madison Square Garden. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET

LETS GO RANGERS!
