1st Period Summary

2nd Period Summary
The second period remained scoreless, but the game opened up considerably as both teams began creating chances in transition. The Rangers went 11 minutes without a shot on goal, but Boston couldn’t capitalize as Igor Shesterkin continued to come up big in net. Shesterkin made a huge stop on Pavel Zacha’s breakaway and came up with several other key saves to keep the game tied. As the ice opened up, both sides traded quality chances, with the Rangers looking to generate more offense late in the period. After 40 minutes, the game remained 0–0, with Shesterkin playing a major role in keeping New York even.
3rd Period — Goalie Showdown
The third period started with both goaltenders continuing to stand tall in what had become a goalie showdown. Igor Shesterkin and Jeremy Swayman kept the game scoreless deep into the period, with both teams trading chances as the pressure continued to build.
Then, with just 3:46 left in regulation, Fraser Minten finally broke through, sniping a shot from the high slot to put the Bruins ahead 1–0. Boston struck again just 52 seconds later when a bad line change left the Rangers scrambling, allowing JJ Peterka to make it a 2–0 game with 2:54 remaining.
With the Rangers pushing for an answer, Boston added an empty-net goal with 2:31 left, putting the game out of reach. After a hard-fought, scoreless battle for nearly the entire night, the Rangers fell to the Bruins 3–0. Shesterkin kept New York in it for most of the game, but Boston’s late offensive surge proved decisive.
