The Rangers‘ 10-point road streak was snapped last night in Detroit. For the fourth time all season and the first since November, the Rangers have lost 3 straight games.

This will be quick.

Halak wasn’t good in the net, nor was anyone on the team.

Blueshirts outshot the Red Wings 10-7 but didn’t generate many chances.

In the second period they outshot Detroit 13-8.

Trockeck tied the game but the Rangers gave up two goals by the end of the third period.

The Rangers took five penalties in the third period. Way too many down two goals. Detroit scored a fourth goal about five minutes into the third that sealed the game.

The Rangers play Saturday afternoon in Washington at 1pm.

Notes:

Rangers only dressed 11 forwards and seven defensemen. Jake Leschyshyn and Vitali Kravstov were held out of this one because of “roster maintenance”.

Both scratches were most likely due to trade talks via multiple reports. Rumors have increased about Patrick Kane’s connection to Broadway. The outside noise and the weird roster construction may have gotten to the Ranger’s locker room last night. There is no guarantee a trade will come in the next 24 hours since the Rangers are battling with limited cap space. Would not be surprised if this talk continues until next Friday’s deadline.
