Rangers were eliminated from playoff contention last night, 6-3 to Washington. Tom Wilson received a double-minor and 10-minute misconduct penalty after Artemi Panarin was thrown to ice post whistle.
UPDATE: Per Coach Quinn: Panarin, Trouba and Lindgren are all out for season.
Blueshirts went down 2-0 then Zibanejad scored two goals to tie game. Kappo Kakko took the lead but then Washington scored four straight goals.
“Just another level of disappointment, really,” David Quinn said. “Just didn’t get enough done this year. Had some great moments, some great stretches, but it just wasn’t enough.”
Zibanejad was not surprised about Wilson’s antics.
“I figured you should have some more respect for the game and for the players,” Zibanejad said after the loss. “I don’t honestly know where to start. It’s just there’s zero respect.
Rangers host Washington tomorrow night.
