Rangers missed an opportunity to add 2 points north of the border. Blueshirts blew a 2-1 lead with 4:11 left in the third period.
Defensive miscues in 3rd and OT cost the Bluehshirts.
Chris Kreider looked lost defensively which allowed the game-tying goal. He failed to block out Lilligren. Then Artemi Panarin was intercepted on a careless cross-ice pass that John Taveras hit in the top post while time expired.
Panarin failed to block out Mitch Marner and he beat Shesterkin’s glove side for the game-winner.
Chytil scored 2 goals in the second period.
Filip Chytil opened the Rangers scoring with a one-time from the left circle off the face-off. Then another goal from a pass from Kappo Kakko.
Rangers host the Golden Knights on Friday night.
