What a comeback! The Rangers got revenge over the Oilers, after a November 26th contest in which they blew the three-goal deficit. It’s the first time in franchise history that the Rangers have posted multiple winning streaks of seven-plus games in the same season.

The Blueshirts came out hungry and dominated the offensive zone for the first seven and half minutes until Trocheck took an awful interference call then Oilers scored their first goal.

Then a few minutes later, Blueshirts were down three. Kreider scored on the PP to cut the lead to 2.

Another terrible penalty, when the puck was thrown over the glass by Miller resulted in a fourth goal by Draistel. McDavid recorded his 100th point of the season by the end of the first.

Kreider scored another goal on the PP for the lone-second period goal.

Lafreienere scored a little over a minute and a half into the third period to cut the deficit to 1.

Oilers’ remained to play sluggish in their zone and Rangers finally got their break. Mattis Janmark was called for hooking at 12:16. Then less than a minute later Derek Ryan was called for a Delay of Game Penalty. Mika Zibanejad made the Oilers pay and scored on the 5-3 PP to tie the game at 13:10.
