Home Opener

For the first time this season, the Blueshirts will be on home ice as they started their season on a two-game road trip. Blake Wheeler, Erik Gustafsson, Nick Bonino, and Tyler Pitlick are set to make their MSG debuts as a member of the Rangers. Jonathan Quick will have to wait later in the season to make his MSG debut as a member of New York.

“There’s been conversations about it [when to rotate netminders] and the goalies are aware of what we’re thinking and the intentions,” said head coach Peter Laviolette.

Ryan Lindgren missed the previous game in Columbus with an upper-body injury. This led to Zac Jones making his season debut on a pair with Braden Schneider and it was not a night to remember for the pair. Both finished the game as a minus two. Lindgren took part in the morning skate on Monday and he is listed as a game-time decision by Laviolette. Since Lindgren’s debut, the Rangers are 29-32-10 when he has missed a game due to injury.

In the last 15 games against the Coyotes, the Rangers came out victorious in 12 of those contests; including entering Monday’s game on a four-game win streak. Defeating Arizona will not be easy, as this is a team that appears to be starting to make an incline projection. While their rebuild is not just magically over, they do have some exciting talent and pieces that can really hurt a team. Nick Schmaltz and Clayton Keller each recorded two points in their opening night win against the Devils. 19-year-old rookie, Logan Cooley also recorded two points and he will be after his first goal on Monday night.

They also traded a second-round pick to Los Angeles for defenseman Sean Durzi in the offseason. And despite trading away one draft pick in the 2024 NHL draft, the Coyotes still have three second-round picks in 2024, and 20 picks in the first three rounds over the next three seasons. Durzi recorded 38 points as a member of the Kings last season.

Connor Ingram will get his first start of the season for Arizona. He will rival Igor Shesterkin who will make his third-straight appearence.

Bet of the Night

Last bet: The last pick did not hit as the over hit on 6.5 goals. Our quest to going .500 or better currently remains intact.

Current record: 1-1

Current season money total (Based on $5 bets) – We are down 10 cents (Remember follow or fade is up to you)

Tonight’s bet: The Coyotes allowed two power-play goals on five opportunities against New Jersey. With the Blueshirts power-play being good to start the season, let us go in the direction of the Rangers power-play getting a goal in Monday’s game. To be more specific, the bet is Adam Fox to record a point on the power-play at +130 ($5 bet pays $11.50) on Draftkings. Fox has achieved this in each game to start the season and those odds make it a value play.
