Rangers tied the season series with their rivals on Long Island. The 4-1 victory was lead by Goaltender Alexander Georgiev, who made his first start in three weeks.

Georgiev made 31 saves and .969 SV%. He has a career .947 SV% against the Islanders.

After a scoreless first period, Rookie Alexis Lafreniere scored off a rebound from the slot. According to NYR Stats and Info, when Lafreniere registers a point the Blueshirts are 10-2-0 on the season; they are 6-1 when he notches a goal. 

Later in the period, Colin Blackwell connected with a shot that went through Ryan Pulock’s leg. Blackwell has scored in three straight games and six out of seven.

Later in the period, Isles Defenseman Andy Greene; scored on a one-timer from the blue line.

Rookie K’Andre Miller extended the lead from a one-timer early in the third period. Mika Zibanejad scored an empty net goal that sealed the game.

According to NYR Stats and Info, The Rangers have earned at least one point in five of the last six games (4-1-1 record), in eight of the last 11 games (7-3-1 record), and in 11 of the last 15 games (9-4-2 record).

Rangers trail Boston by 5 points for the last playoff spot. Boston plays Philadelphia today.

Rangers play in Long Island again tomorrow night at 7pm.
